Overview

Alibaba RFQ Translator is a Chrome browser extension that translates Request for Quotation (RFQ) inquiry content on sourcing.alibaba.com into your preferred language.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains clearly what data we access, what we store, and what we never do.

Data We Access

The extension only accesses:

• READ Text content on sourcing.alibaba.com pages (the RFQ inquiry text to be translated)
• LOCAL Your extension settings stored locally in your browser (target language, source language preferences)
• LOCAL Translation count statistics stored locally (numbers only, no content)

How Translation Works

When you click "Translate", the extension sends the RFQ text to a free third-party translation API (Google Translate or MyMemory) over HTTPS. The translated text is then displayed in your browser.

Translation requests are processed by:

• Google Translate — Google Privacy Policy
• MyMemory — MyMemory Privacy Policy

We do not operate any server. Translation requests go directly from your browser to these third-party APIs.

What We DON'T Do

• ✘ We do NOT collect or store any personal information
• ✘ We do NOT track your browsing activity
• ✘ We do NOT share any data with third parties (beyond translation APIs)
• ✘ We do NOT use cookies or analytics
• ✘ We do NOT collect translation content or store it on any server
• ✘ We do NOT require any account or login

Local Storage Only

All settings and statistics are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by removing the extension.

• ✔ Translation count (number only)

Permissions Explained

• host_permissions (sourcing.alibaba.com) — Required to read and modify page content for translation display
• storage — Required to save your language preferences locally
• fetch (translate.googleapis.com, api.mymemory.translated.net) — Required to call free translation APIs
